A Built in Microwave Oven Combo Offers Convenience and Versatility

A built in microwave oven combo provides the best of both worlds by combining your microwave and oven into one appliance. They can free space on your countertops and give your kitchen a sleek style.

These models come with powerful broilers, which cook food evenly. The microwaves can also allow food to be cooked quickly. They also offer a wide variety of cooking options to cook various meals.

Size

Combining the convenience of a microwave oven with the flexibility of wall ovens, a built in microwave and wall oven is an efficient solution for many kitchens. Browse our selection of combination wall ovens and microwaves to find the ideal fit for your home. Be sure to check the cutout specifications of the appliance you choose and follow the installation guide to make sure it will fit in your space. Our microwave and wall oven models include wall oven and microwave models that are available in a range of styles, colors, and finishes that will complement any style. Look for features like easy and efficient controls, a power cook function, and built-in self-cleaning to help you save time.

Convenience

A  built-in microwave  oven combo can save space on kitchen counters and give a stylish appearance to your kitchen. Because it functions as a microwave and a traditional oven, you can heat up leftovers, frozen food items and pre-packaged meals all in one appliance. It can eliminate the necessity for separate countertop appliances or large wall ovens. A combination microwave oven can also be a good option when you are looking to improve your kitchen without undergoing any major renovations.

There are microwave ovens in a variety of styles to match your kitchen's decor. Some microwave oven combos feature a swing-out right-to-left door, while others are drop-down designs that open in the same way as traditional ovens. You can also get an oven and microwave that opens inside a drawer, similar to cabinets. Microwave drawers are easy to reach and are great for small spaces where you need to avoid taking up valuable counter space.

Combination microwaves are also equipped with various features that can help you prepare your meals faster and more efficient. Some models have the option of a sensor steam mode that adjusts the temperature and time of your food in order to ensure you get perfect steamed fish and vegetables. Other features include a broil feature that lets you quickly melt cheese or brown your favorite dish and Crispwave(tm) technology that can grill food items, bake and crisp them.

When selecting a microwave oven combination, you should think about how often you'll be using each function. If you'll use the oven more often than the micro, you may be better off buying an oven that doubles as a wall. It's important to keep in mind that a combo appliance typically has less capacity than a conventional standalone oven.

When you've chosen a microwave and oven combo to meet your needs, consider the installation procedure. Over-the-range models are installed over your stovetop or cooktop, and plug into a power outlet. Built-in microwaves are inserted on walls or cabinets in your kitchen. Certain models have trim kits that ensure that your new microwave is in line with your existing cabinets.

Energy Efficiency

A built-in microwave oven combo can provide an ideal space-saving solution for those with smaller kitchens, regardless of whether they reside in a house or apartment. They can help save space in cabinets which would otherwise be taken by separate appliances, and can also help reduce energy consumption. They generally provide an efficient cooking method than traditional wall ovens as they tend to use less energy. They can also be used to cook food and warm meals. This means that there is less necessity for other appliances such as toasters or warming plates.

DOE conducts various analyses when evaluating potential amendments to energy conservation standards. These include assessments of technology and market screening analysis, engineering analyses and a national impact analysis (NIA). For this SNOPR, DOE will rely on its existing engineering analysis of microwave ovens to determine the maximum level of efficiency improvements that are technically feasible for this product class.

DOE will compare the design of a microwave to a set energy performance objectives in the engineering analysis. The engineering analysis will then determine the maximum improvement in energy efficiency that is technologically feasible based on the most advanced microprocessor-controlled model available on the market or in working prototypes, or the maximum reduction in energy consumption that is technically achievable with the current technologies available for this product class.

As part of NIA, DOE will assess the impacts on consumers, including cost savings throughout the lifecycle and simple payback period (PBP). DOE will utilize its Government Regulatory Impact Model with an adaptation for microwave ovens to calculate industry net present value ("NPV").

DOE will also examine the impact on manufacturers and will employ an altered industry cash flow model modified to fit this particular product to calculate manufacturing NPV. DOE will also look at the effects of these proposals on small-scale businesses as well as other manufacturing subgroups to identify those who are likely to be affected.

In addition, DOE will consider whether the testing procedures for microwave ovens must be revised to include active mode energy use and an integrated active mode energy use metric. Currently, the test protocols only cover the use of standby mode power.

Design

Microwaves generate heat by causing water molecules vibrate in food. Wall ovens rely upon the circulation of hot air while microwaves rely on waves to cause food molecules to vibrate. Combination wall ovens blend these two distinct appliances into a single unit that helps save kitchen space and offers sleek, modern design. It is important to think about your budget and needs before deciding on a combination wall oven. Many of the combination wall ovens that we've rated have issues with performance or design.
